Peyia police arrest two people for burglary and theft
Police in Paphos arrested two people, aged 34 and 37, in a case of burglary and theft after officers caught the suspects in possession of stolen goods.
According to police, the men's car was stopped for inspection on Sunday at around 7:15 p.m. During the subsequent search, officers found jewelry items such as rings, earrings and watches, for which the two suspects were unable to provide sufficient explanations.
Later, around 9pm, two tourists reported a break-in at their accommodation to Peyia police station, during which gold jewellery and watches were stolen.
The two complainants were shown the items found in the possession of the two suspects, which they identified as their property.
Arrest warrants have been issued against the two men and they have been taken into custody while Peyia Police continue their investigation.
