Private dentists will provide free dental check-ups on March 20, the Cyprus Dental Association said on Monday.
On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, the free dental examinations are intended to raise awareness of oral health.
"The main aim of the event is to make us all aware of the impact that oral health has on our overall physical health and well-being and to encourage us to adopt better hygiene habits," the association explained.

Millions of working and school days are lost each year due to poor dental health, with economic and social consequences.
While over 50 million school hours are lost each year due to dental problems.
"Diseases occur in the mouth, from the simplest, such as tooth and gum disease, to the most serious, such as oral cancer."
Meanwhile, the first symptoms of general diseases such as diabetes mellitus, certain cardiovascular diseases and some communicable diseases, etc., also appear in the mouth.
“Treatment of these conditions could be easier and more effective if these early symptoms are diagnosed early during dental visits.”
