A new November temperature record is imminent in Cyprus. 
According to Kitasweather, the thermometer at the reference station in Athalassa, Nicosia, climbed to almost 33 °C on Thursday – breaking the previous peak of 32.6 °C.

According to Kitasweather's forecasts, temperatures between 30 °C and 33 °C are expected in the interior, between 28 °C and 31 °C on the coasts and around 19 °C in the Troodos Mountains. This means that the level is 5 to 9 degrees above the usual average for the beginning of November.

A slight change in the weather is expected on Friday: A weak disturbance will bring isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, especially over the mountain and foothill regions, inland and in the north of the island. These thunderstorms can be locally strong and bring hail with them.

The dust in the air will remain for the time being, but should gradually settle in the course of the afternoon and evening. Despite falling temperatures, the values remain above the seasonal average at 28 to 29 °C.

The day began with partly dense clouds, which quickly shifted northwards and later gave way to a mostly clear sky. In the course of the day, some clouds will form again over the western and northwestern slopes of the Troodos Mountains.

For the weekend and the beginning of the week, mainly sunny weather is expected, interrupted by occasional high or medium-high cloud fields. Temperatures will remain at an above-average level of 28 to 29 °C.

A constricted low-pressure area in the middle troposphere, stretching from the Balkans to North Africa, remains active, keeping Cyprus under the influence of unusually warm air currents from the Middle East.

On Friday, temperatures will drop slightly to 26 to 29 °C inland and on the coasts and to about 15 °C in Chionistra – still 3 to 6 degrees above the long-term average. In the eastern parts of the country and inland, fog or low-hanging clouds may form in the evening.

On Saturday, sunny weather will dominate after morning fog and low clouds have cleared. At noon and in the afternoon, higher clouds will move in occasionally. The values will drop slightly to 25 to 28 °C in the lowlands and on the coasts, and around 14 °C will be reached in the mountains.

On Sunday, the sunny weather will continue, only in the mountains local clouds may appear in the afternoon. Temperatures will rise slightly again – to 26 to 29 °C in the interior and on the coast, and to 15 °C in the mountains.

Monday is expected to bring intermittent clouds with high cloud fields. With 25 to 28 °C in the lowlands and about 15 °C in Chionistra, it will remain 2 to 5 degrees warmer than usual for this time of year.
