At the Official Strongman Games 2025 in Arlington (Texas), a massive scandal occurred: The US trans woman Jammie Booker, who initially won the title of "Strongest Woman in the World", was not allowed to keep her victory. After the competition, it became known that Booker is biologically male – a fact she had concealed before the start.
The organizers then annulled the result.

Britain's Andrea Thompson (43), one of the most famous athletes on the scene, had fought a tough duel with Booker in six demanding disciplines - including Log Press, Deadlift Ladder and Timber Frame Carry. In the final "Stone Series", in which four stones weighing up to 136 kilograms have to be lifted over a 107-centimeter barrier, Booker was just ahead of Thompson: Three stones in about 29 seconds, while Thompson mastered only one.

Rumours are bubbling – video from 2017 brings clarity
Shortly after the competition, comments and speculation on the net about Booker's origin and gender came thick and fast. An old YouTube video from 2017 surfaced in which Booker is said to have described himself as transgender. The criticism quickly became louder, especially from Thompson's environment. Numerous supporters publicly attributed her moral victory and described her as the "true strongest woman".

Organizers: "We didn't know anything about her biological sex"
The organizers of the Strongman Games explained that they were not informed about Booker's actual sex. If this had been known, she would not have been allowed to start in the women's category. In a statement, they clarified:

After the title has been revoked, all points are now to be recalculated and the rankings corrected accordingly.
