German YouTuber Jan Zimmermann, widely known for his channel "Gewitter im Kopf" (Thunderstorm in the Head), has passed away at the age of 27. Zimmermann was found lifeless in his apartment in Königswinter, North Rhine-Westphalia, on the evening of November 18.

The Bonn police confirmed the discovery and the initiation of a death investigation. Following an autopsy, the police ruled out any evidence of foul play and concluded their investigation.

Death Caused by Epileptic Seizure

While the police initially provided no cause of death, the family later issued a statement via the YouTuber's Wikipedia page, revealing the precise circumstances of his sudden passing:

Fame Through "Gewitter im Kopf"

Jan Zimmermann gained widespread fame through his YouTube channel, "Gewitter im Kopf," which he ran with his friend, Tim Lehmann, amassing around 2 million subscribers.

Zimmermann provided a humorous, engaging, and highly open insight into his life with Tourette's Syndrome. Tourette's is a neurological disorder causing involuntary movements and vocalizations (tics) that sufferers cannot consciously control.

Zimmermann first made his condition public in a 2019 report on the German TV show "Galileo" before launching his dedicated YouTube channel shortly thereafter. In late 2022, Zimmermann underwent treatment to reduce his tics by having a deep brain stimulation (DBS) device, or brain pacemaker, fitted.

His sudden death on November 18, 2025, has deeply affected his fans and the entire YouTube community.
