Trump did not speak about the typical "globalist" policies, such as those on climate, migration and pharmaceutical policy. The World Economic Forum (WEF) is known for relying on so-called "public-private partnerships": cooperation between state and large private sector players. Instead, Trump initially spoke primarily about America's policies: "We have ushered in America's golden age." A "common sense revolution" has taken place in America. This will be a global advance: "The entire planet will be more peaceful and prosperous as a result of what we are now doing in America," said Trump.

The US President continued: "We will be free and sovereign again." He also stated: "We have restored freedom of expression." He was referring to the censorship practiced in the EU, which, under the pretext of combating disinformation, also suppresses legal and legitimate content, and in the past even true information. Trump: "False information and disinformation are terms that have been used by the censors."

"The Green New Scam"

He sharply criticized the EU: "We in America think that the EU treats us badly." The EU's tariffs are unfair to American companies, while conversely it is made easy for European companies to be based in the USA. "I love Europe," Trump emphasized, but: "The EU must speed up the process here." He is referring to fees and bureaucratic hurdles that arise in the EU.

The WEF is generally considered to be very woke. Many of the participants will therefore be offended when Trump tells them: "There are only two genders. Man and woman." For the USA, the US President announced: "No men will participate as trans women in women's sports." This is the result of a policy with which the US government is "restoring common sense."

He also discussed the issue of migration in a way that the ruling EU bureaucrats would not choose. America had been subjected to an "invasion" with "illegal migration" that Trump wants to end. He also emphasized that he had broken with the pet projects of EU bureaucrats. We have "abolished the Green New Deal" and have "withdrawn from the Paris Climate Agreement."

Trump has no understanding for the EU's climate policy: "I have ended the ridiculous and incredibly wasteful Green New Deal. I call it the Green New Scam." "Scam" means something like "cheating" or "swindling." EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen probably did not like these sentences at all
